After Nissan procedure

My procedure was 8 months ago.  Now it is becoming very very difficult for me to swallow again.
i experienced severe pain and i wonder if the nissan wrap came undone????  would an MRI show the problem without having to repeat all the GI tests again?

I had the same surgery in sept. and have never stopped clearing my throat. the dr. said i had a hernia, that is now fixed but i still clear my throat and now my throat hurts just like it did before my surgery. After my surgery, when i was able to eat, i could not keep food down, the dr. thought the opening was too small, but i did the barium and showed that it was going down surely but slowly, the next day they found out that i already had scar tissue that had grown over. this was excactly a month later.

Hi ouch2453,
You can do a esophageal manometry and a barium swallow x-ray to see if the opening between the esophagus and stomach is normal. If it is too tight following Nissan procedure you may have the  problems you have mentioned.

The above mentioned tests are the best tests for this problem.
