Developed GERD after GI endoscopy??

So im 30 male 170 lbs and in fairly decent shape. I eat pretty healthy and i had an upper GI procudure due ti some gastrointestinal issues (primarily just lack of hunger).

Now I've never gotten GERD once in my life for any reason. But about a week and a half after the procedure I developed pretty bad Gerd. I then went to a GI specialist who is seeing me for my hunger issues but i mentioned to him thr GERD. I stressed pretty strongly that ive never had it before even once and now all of a sudden i have it every day pretty badly eben when jsut drinking water or not eating.

He prescribed me Zantac twice a day. I feel like thats a bandage and not addressing my concern or the reason it started now after 30 years right after a GI endoscopy. ( He wasn't the Dr that performed the procedure either). So he said and mentioned nothing else about it.

Its been about a month or a month and a half of taking the Zantac..and while admittedly its alot better, its still present daily.

Does anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences? I really am not liking the idea of this being with me fir life after ONE GI endoscopy..

Any help is appreciated thanks.

Endoscopy does not cause GERD. My symptoms appeared suddenly as well seven years ago. GERD is cause by a weak LES.
