Flare up and vomiting

Is it normal to get periods of feeling really sick in the stomach, vomiting, diarrhea and lack of energy with reflux? Things were ok, then i got a cold and went off my food and now everything has flared up.

I am on 40 - 60mg Nexium a day

The stomach problem is part of the reflux - it makes me really sick in the stomach - much worse than the feeling in my throat... i have to lie sitting up and can't do anything when i get these waves of sickness and they come on so suddenly

dr said i have severe symptoms of reflux. I am not overweight, don't smoke, don't eat spicy foods... basically none of the usual risk factors. But i do take lithium and the gastroenterologist  thinks this could have caused reflux because it can cause gastritis.

I think i may have to change lithium meds to tegratol or something...

does anyone else get debilitating nausea with their reflux and have you found anything   to help??????????????????????????????

thanks x

It is possible that meds u took for ur stomach issue could have flared up the reflux.

It is important to get back on the proper diet and u may need to take extra meds for the reflux....but do talktour dr to get the proper dosage.

Maylox or tums in addition to ur nexium may help.
