GERD?

at the end of my last pregnancy i started experincing extreme sensitivity to food. i had to change my diet. no fried foods sauces acidic foods ect. i thought for sure after the baby was born this would go away. i had my son dec 27 2010 and my symptoms have gotten worse. now i get the nausea every day no matter what i eat i also develpoed a stabbing sharp pain in my upper back that shoots through my chest. my doctor thought i had gallstones and i have been checked but none were found. i also had a blood test that came back perfect so she diagnosed me with GERD and put me on prilosec. i have been on that for a month and now only get the nausea occasionaly . but the  pain in my chest and back has not gone and gets worse when i am stressed. no my doc wants to send me to a specialist. do you have any idea what this could be?

I also suffer with all of the syptoms you named, and slight chest pain being one of them. After many different tablets, I have finally been booked in for an endoscopy. My Doctor suggested I had a hiatus hernia, and said they can sometimes push slightly on your lungs, causing shortness of breathe, or in your case chest pain. If you also suffer with acid reflux, this also could be a sign of a hiatus hernia. You should suggest to your Doctor about this, and if the pain persists, maybe ask for an endoscopy appointment. I hope this helped.
