Has anyone heard of or tried this?

have been diagnosed with long standing GERD and a recent endoscopy showed the early stages of Barrett's Esophagus. I am currently on Nexium 40mg and was told I'll have to take medication "for the rest of my life". I'm 51 years old and in otherwise good health. I searched the internet for "alternative" treatments for GERD and there are tons of sites wanting to sell you a book or some miracle probiotic to cure you. I also looked for more permanent fixes with surgical procedures. I stumbled accross this website and was wondering if anyone knows how well this works? I want to eat pepperoni pizza again and wash it down with a beer!
Here's the website on the TIF with EsophyX procedure...

Thanks for the info. The thing that bothers me most about taking a PPI daily for the rest of my life is the list of side effects long term use can cause. My dad died of stomach cancer and I saw how he suffered. I am cancer free right now (had several biopsies done) and would like to stay that way. I intend on living well into my 80's and 30+ years of taking medication is not how I want to get there. I have a non-functioning LES and with today's advanced procedure's I am positive it can be repaired. I'm looking to have it repaired with the least invasive procedure possible. Thanks again for your comments, info and well wishes.
God bless you and yours,
Joe

I think I have a better website for you that deals only with digestive disorders/diseases and kidney diseases.

If you are familiar with the federal government, The National Institutes of Health in Maryland provides a website that give information on digestive diseases from A to Z. First, if you ever heard or read about John Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, it states that there are 25 or more digestive disorders and many have similar symptoms. In the US News and World Report, the number one medical school in the US is John Hopkins.

Go to http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov, and click on Digestion link. The next page has a listing of digestive disorders/diseases from A to Z. Find the area of digestion that is bothering you and learn as much as you can about your specific problem so you can converse with your doctor. Your doctor may be surprised you have more knowledge about what is troubling you. If your digestive problem includes maybe kidneys, the homepage where you first went has blue bars shown on the left side of the page. Look at one of the bar and you see Kidney Diseases, and if you click here, the same information that is available for digestive problems is listed for kidney diseases from A to Z.

I have  had GERT for 15 years, and I take Prilosec, 20 mg,

once a day. Your Nexium is stronger than Prilosec, so I understand the pain you must have  with digestion. I do not offer any sales pitch for a product. I will just say I discovered a US patented probiotic that reversed my constipation 7 months ago. If interested, go to www.theralac.com, and read about Theralac and Enzalase and decide whether the products are worth investigating.

I hope you find relief.

Harrald

P.S. I can eat pizza and drink beer if I take digestive enzymes at the beginning or in the middle of eating the pizza.
