Help my 3-year old! Severe vomiting, mucous

My 3-year old has been vomiting for a couple of months now, starting with once daily, and now up to 30 times daily.  He can't ingest anything (it's more like spitting up), and how is forcing himself to do it by sticking his fingers down this throat, or hitting his throat.  In the middle of the night, he has severe post-nasal drip and wakes up throwing up.  We've seen all kinds of doctors, with little help.  Now, he's not ingesting anything.  I've been reading up of GERD, and was wondering if this could be an answer.  Thank you.

Hi shibbyfer,
Vomiting 30 times a day  could lead to weight loss, electrolyte imbalance and other serious consequences.
But since nothing of this sort happened, its more of your kid clearing his throat due to post nasal drip.

I would say, it is not related to GERD.

You can consult an ENT doctor to evaluate this problem.

Short answer, no... I've had severe Acid Reflux for the last 2-3 years. When I say severe, I mean SEVERE. I've had it so bad before that it felt like a heart attack. I almost swerved off the road and slammed into a tree before because I had an attack while driving and the pain was so crippling I couldn't hold on to the wheel. I've been on the ground before in so much pain the only thing I could do is hit my chest repeatedly until it stopped, almost like a natural instinct to attack something that's attacking you.

But I have never, ever once thrown up because of my Acid Reflux. I heard it CAN happen, but it hasn't happened to me and I go through this all the time.

Sorry about your baby, but it seems like something else. I can't believe that he's throwing up 30 times a day though, that's would be technically impossible, especially if his stomach is empty. He would just be throwing up stomach acid and if he did that 30+ times a day than the acid would literally eat his throat away (over time).
