I thought I had GERD but now I’m afraid I could have cancer

I started with gas that was causing pain in my back under my left shoulder blade 5 months ago. So my primary care doctors put me on Prilosec. A week or 2 I started experiencing indigestion. Then I started experiencing pain when swallowing. My primary car doctor told me I should see either an ENT or a GI. I saw an ENT who scoped my throat. There he saw a sinus infection but also said it probably wouldn’t cause my throat pain. I was put on antibiotics and steroids. While taking these meds I started to experiment fatigue that made it hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and function during the day. This really bothered me. I got off the medications but the fatigue did not improve. One day I experience chest pain so I went to the emergency room just to be safe. I had 2 EKGs, an ultrasound of my gall bladdder and a chest x Ray. They all came back normal. I went back to my primary care doctor who was by now convinced that my symptoms were all in my head. I knew they were not. Next, I went to see the GI doctor who performed an EGD. He found nothing. I am so scared that something is being missed. My uncle died of pancreatic cancer a few years ago and I’m so afraid that I have it. I still have fatigue that comes and goes, trouble swallowing, indigestion when I eat, and a burning feeling in my stomach. Please help if you can.

Forgot to add that I had severe throat pain during one phase of sinus infections. Also-many conditions can cause the syptoms you have described.  I would suggest you find MDs considered at the top of the field of gastro- and pick one to meet with.  If they have an extensive website (maybe even have videos on YouTube) and have patient reviews, then I would consider them.  Find out about there certifications.  If they don't post this info,  I wouldn't go to them.  Wishing you success-

I think that it is imperative that you continue to search for an MD who can answer your questions to your satisfaction.  I can only give input on sinus infections - I used to have major one at least once a year.  I was exhausted for weeks......I feel that your entire body has to let the infection pass thru it.  If you are concerned about your pancreas, why wasn't a scan done of it?  Perhaps you need to research to find the best gastroenterologist in your geographic area.  I found one 2+ hours from my home to get the results I wanted with regard to reflux and a hiatal hernia.  Best of luck to you in your search for answers.
