Hi...sorry u r feeling so badly.

I am sure ur drs told u about lifeatyle changes that can aid u along with meds to feel better.'
I also have a hiatial hernia and I know it can take a while for the meds to make a differenc especially when it is flareing.

Lifestyle changes. Diet modifications.
Medications to reduce stomach acid or to promote normal motility.
These can include Proton Pump Inhibitors, Histamine Receptor Antagonists, and over-the-counter remedies. (like prilosec)
Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Limit your intake of acid-stimulating foods and beverages.
Don't lie down for about two hours after you eat. ( or more depending if it persists with the 2 hr min change)
Elevate your head a few inches while you sleep
(approx 6")
Maintain a reasonable weight.
Don't smoke.
Don't drink alcohol.
Don't wear belts or clothes that are tight fitting around the waist
Keep a record.
Record what triggered your acid reflux episodes, the severity of each episode, how your body reacts, and what gives you relief. The next step is to take this information to your doctor so the both of you can determine what lifestyle changes you will need to make and what treatments will give you maximum relief.

There is more info in our health pages......if u have done all the above...may be u need to see another gastro dr for a second opinion.

Please post an update.
