IS IT GERD?

i am 33fem with hashimotos for over 12yrs and mild mvp
with mitral insufficiency.i also suffer from anxiety mainlty heart anxiety.

today i went with my kids to an outdoor gym.
a friend and i started to do power walking.anyway 15 mins later when we slowed down i had a twinge of pain in the middle which didn't last more than a sec but which scared me a lot so i sat down.

30 mins later or so i stared burping what i had eaten earlier producing a very sour taste in my mouth.

i had eaten about 2 hrs before.

could this pain have been indigestion or gerd or could it be heart related?

it has never happened before. i had a stress test 2.5 ago and a doppler echo of the heart last year all well.

desperately need yr advice.

pls note i climbed 3 flight of stairs 1 hour after and i did that ok with not even a twinge.
sometimes i do feel bloated after a meal eventhough i watch my diet and don;t eat too much.

why do a endoscope always have to be done, can't a normal upper GI , or xray be done.... i am very afraid of the fact about something going  down through my mouth to get to my insides. i am sure there are other ways to investigate our insides other then this method ... back in the day when my father and my uncle had ulsers a normal x ray was only done and they were told to take malox in the brown bottle and  to drink milk and  to eat only soft foods loke oatmeal , rice , mashed potatoes etc until their ulsers healed. no scopes were needed... i think its an insurance and money thing don't you think???

Hi,
Burping and sour taste in the mouth are signs of GERD.
Since you have bloating of abdomen also, you probably have mixed type of dyspepsia which has signs of both reflux and bloating.
An upper GI endoscopy may be done to look for lesions before branding it as mixed type dyspepsia which is a functional one.
