I've had two laproscopic surgeries (a Nissen Fundoplication and bowel obstruction) as well as a couple of open heart surgeries. I've always had trouble eating after surgery, I'm full and feel nauseated for a couple of weeks. I think the drugs used to put you to sleep take awhile to get out of the system, causing digestive issues. I'd suggest you simply don't rush back to solid food too quickly, avoid fatty food or roughage, stay on a liquid diet for awhile. Antibiotic meds tend to kill both the good and bad bacteria, as Selma was leading to, I think, and that could cause some of your problem.
I'd suggest you contact your doctor and follow his/her dietary restrictions, but bet you will feel better soon if you don't rush back to solid foods.
Yes, they put me on Cipro for a week.
Did you get any antibiotics to prevent bacterial infection after the surgery?
