Ive been told i have gerd but i believe it may be something else

2 years ago i had a sinus infection and was treated for that but ever since then ive been experiencing post nasal drip. I also have this tightness in my forehead and pain in the back of my head/neck, its always there. Ive had a ctscan which was clear and i had deviated septum fixed. Ive been allergy tested, no allergies. Im now being treated for acid reflux and taking 40mg prescription prilosec daily. Not helping. The only symptoms i have are wanting to clear my throat pretty much constantly, my throat feeling raw and like something is stuck in the back  and the head pain. Ive seen 2 ents, allergist and 2 physicians. I have not been scoped yet, but i feel i am just baffling everyone. Ive tried allergy meds, steroids, nasal sprays, painkillers. I just feel lost, could this actually be gerd or may it be something else, and if so what else? I am a very healthy 24 year old, i have never smoked but i was around a chronic smoker  when this all began.

Not everyone will have typical GERD symptoms...here is a list of what is also known as Silent Reflux, and u do not have to experience all of them to have this-

Symptoms of Laryngopharyngeal Reflux are:

i don't have any symptoms of gerd besides sinus issues. Theyre just guessing i have gerd. I've stopped the prilosec for now, it didnt even help.

I'm also 24 and healthy minus the constant post nasal drip. The doctors don't know what's wrong with me either. I was prescribed Prilosec for two weeks and it didn't do anything -- I don't have any symptoms of GERD so I don't know why they had me take it in the first place. I tried the Nasopharyngeal endoscopy already -- he didn't find any signs of GERD. Keep us posted, I'm curious to know what was causing your symptoms.

I would recommend a scope, i.e. Nasopharyngeal Endoscopy, which can be done by an ENT Specialist.  That should be your next step.

Hi...it is very possible that the meds u were on for the infection may have left u with GERD and that could be why u feel the PND.

Ask ur Dr about trying probiotics, as the antibiotics used to treat infections kill all bacteria, the good with the bad and u need the good to break down the foods u eat.

Modify ur diet, drink plenty of water and exercise when u can...but a good probiotic may help.

Good luck and do post an update
