I know that... and in the last 2 years, I've went from drinking a fifth of vodka a day to about 10 beers a day. I've made good progress doing it on my own, and it just ***** that as soon as I think I'm doing good, the repercussions of all my drinking I think finally caught up to me. I'm trying to get off it completely, but everyone knows, quitting an addiction is a process. I gotta be honest when I say that having "GERD" is probably a good thing for me, it will make me stop drinking, which is what I need. But my problem still lies with me not having an appetite. Even if I continue to drink a few beers a day, is there a way I can make myself hungry?!
First off, You are in a sense pickleing your Liver, My father used to do the same thing, he would go on a drinking binge, and not eat, what happens is your liver being like a filter for your body, gets saturated with alcohol, and it will eventually break down and you will end up with Cirrosis, it is also going to create issues with your kidneys. As far as Gerd is concerned any foods or drinks "Including Alcoholic Beverages" containig carbonation, Caffein, Citric Acid, Tomato's or tomato sauce, Spicy foods, Onion, Garlic, You can look up a list of foods to stay away from, but your just fooling yourself if you don't get off the alcohol, Your habit will kill you FTB4
Alcohol is a double-edged sword. It causes people to lose interest in food. The lack of nutrition is what will doom your liver and kill you. I think it may help you to have those facts.
