My 11 year old son has been suffering from reflix for about 9 months. He rarely has the usual GERD symptoms of heart burn etc..., his main symptom is the regertation of stomach contents into his mouth. This can happen over 50 times on a bad day. He says it rarely burns and he doesn't suffer from the usual non acid reflux symptoms of cough, sore throat, horse voice etc.....
He recently had a 24hr ph study test done and although he had regertation into his mouth over 30 times during the 24 hours, the test came back that he doesn't suffer from reflux because the results were within the peramitors of normal.
I was just wondering if anyone else suffers similar symptoms and have they managed to get a definite diagnosis, if so what test did they have performed?
Although he is not in any pain, the regertation is signifantly affecting his daily life as quite often the reflux catches him by surprise or is such a large amount that it ends up coming out at the most inappropriate times. It has come out on other children at school, on his school work and while he is playing sport. Any advice that may help would be greatly appreciated.
