Throat Problems

I have been having throat problems for a few months. I have had an EGDP, Upper Gi Series, and modified barium swallow and continue to feel like there's something stuck in my throat. I was told I have a heinal hernia. What other tests can I take to get help and be healed?

May I ask what meds u r on? and r u following the lifestyle tips and foods to avoid??

I can relate to ur issue with ur throat....I also have nodules on my thyroid, so I am never quite sure which condition is to blame. Have u had ur thyroid checked?

Hi selmaS,  I  first started out with aciphex and then the doctor prescribed nexium. The nexium didnt work so I went back to the aciphex.  I use to drink beer a lot and I started drinking a wine coolers and stopped eating certain foods. I did have my thyroid checked a few years ago but i think I need to again since mostly everyone in my family has it. I have to see the ENT in the morning and have a procedure done and I'll ask about that. What do you do for the nodules on ur thyroid? Any info will help to ask the ENT thursday.

Hi Tonya,

I get my thyroid checked every 6 mons with an US....and I am on synthroid.

I had my first labs to see if there were ne changes with the meds.....there were small changes and I need to up the dosage.I am also due for another US to see if the nodules have grown.....I was told I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis......acid reflux tends to go along with this ...I also have a hiatal hernia.

Please let me know what ur ENT says.

I had a sinus ct scan today and a thyroid ultrasound. They discovered  nodules and I have to go back to see what exactly are they going to do. Do you know what if any of a procedure that they do for nodules?

It depends on the size and they do a FNA- Fine Needle Aspiration...and then depending on the results u may have a proceedure to remove the thyroid.

I am by no means an expert on this issue as I am new to my thyroid issues...I would suggest u try thr thyroid forum here on MedHelp...Laura, stella and chitchatnine are all very helpful...oh and 898.....
