What could this be?

I've been prescribed Omeprazole for 2 months, my first question is am i able to drink one pint (maximum) alcohol per week? Also, because of the throat irritation i decided to have a look. When i push my tongue out as far as possible i can see what is circled in this photo: http://i36.tinypic.com/30jl3lk.png

Thankyou

Hi,
It is better to avoid alcohol totally for good response.
What you see at the back of the tongue is a structure called epiglottis. This structure covers the opening of the respiratory tract and prevenets aspiration and protects the airway.
