What is wrong?

HI,

I have been having pain in the upper part of my left side abdominal area for  afew months. It started with a trip to the ER. I could not breathe, only lasted a few minutes and blood presure was about 145 at the time. They took blood inthe ER and said all was fine, gave me a pill for Potassium and sent meon my way to see the doctor soon.

Went to find a regular doctor. Told him what I had been feeling. He gave me a pill and said I had possible high blood preasure and gastritis. The pain was in the upper part of my rib cage left side only and back into my back under my left shoulder. The pain is not too bad but is constant. The pills help a bit my throat is not longer burning and the stomach is not as bad as it was.

It has been several months and the back pain and rib pain (left side only) are still present. I have went back to the doctor andhe changed my medcine to Nexium (purple) and Propatinal (blood presure pill). These do not seem to be working.I am afraid something may really be wrong with me so dont go back to the doctor. I think it is weaking my immune system as I have had throat and ear infections three times this year. The pain with those was horrible, i got anti-biotoics (avelox) and am on the road to recovery with the third set of those.

Any advise would be great or anyone that has had the same.

Hi,
I would suggest you have upper GI endoscopy and ultrasound scan done as first step to evaluate your abdominal problem.

I can kinda feel what you are feeling. I have Acid Reflux / GERD and currently having other issues as well. I am in the process of having other health issues worked out as we speak. But here is the symptoms I am having. I will start with head and work my way down.

1) Dizzyness / Lightheaded after coughing
2) Nasal Congestion/ Runny noise (Clear sticky Mucas)
3) Cough (Productive, but still clear and Sticky)
4) Have to pop my ears from time to time.
5) The classic Regurgitaion all the way to the top of my throat.
6) Very mild sharp chest pain from time to time. ( Had a Echocariodgram and Nuke Stress Test, both came back ok. 48 Holter Monitor picked up a few PVC's and PAC's, Currently on day 20 on a 21 day Holter)
7) Acid build up in stomache
8) Sometimes a light nausia

So yeah I can kind of relate. Might be GERD with a cold/Flu mix for me...not sure though. Will keep ya posted.

I hope you get to feeling better.
