burning in stomach or middle abdomen area that wont go away

32 y/o male with no major health issues.  for the past few weeks, I have had a burning sensation in my stomach/middle abdomen area.  Called my doc and he called me in a 40 mg omeprazole.  Been on that for a few weeks and nothing has helped.  tums, Maalox, etc. does nothing.  I had an upper and lower endoscopy a few months ago with a small hiatal hernia, that wasn't even worth operating on, and that was it.  any ideas what this could be. got an apt with my pcp next week.  anything that you think might help would be appreciated.  I have been drinking almond milk, eating cheese, anything to help.  nothing does.  I feel it as food goes down to my stomach, but then the burning sensation is still there.  any help would be appreciated.

I feel for you. I ended up in the ER two days after Christmas with this weird, knot feeling. It felt like extreme hunger pains but I had no appetite. Was told it was a stomach virus after a ct scan, gall bladder ultrasound, blood work, and ekg. Well after 5 days of not feeling better, I called my pcp and she thinks it is either gastritis or ulcer. Been taking zantac 75 mgs, three times a day. I have been on it for 5 days. I woke up last night with horrible acid reflux. I couldn't even swallow water. Finally took some mutants and it went away. I'm hoping that it's just to soon to expect a huge difference and maybe within a couple weeks I will be better. Can't wait til Feb 1st when my insurance kicks in. Hope you find some relief.
