gallstones but dr say pain from reflux

Almost every day for the past 6 months or so I have had pain around bottom center/right of rib cage, back and right shoulder.  I am a 28 year old who had a child 3 yrs ago..weight at the time was 220lbs, since then I have lost over 50lbs. At first the pain starts off as a dull ache, and makes me feel like if I could just stretch out my back it would go away, then as the day goes on it increases and I feel it front and back and anywhere in between, by bedtime I am left tossing and turning in discomfort.  My family dr sent me for an ultrasound which showed I have tonnes of gallstones, but dr says my gallbladder doesnt look sick so she is passing my pain off as Reflux and told me to continue taking tums and Zantac.  I have tried tums, zantac, maalox, Gaviscon and my hubby's novo rabeprazole nothing seems to work.  Last night the pain got REALLY bad and I was contemplating a trip to emerg I had taken last night 3 gaviscon, 1- 12 hour zantac and 2 tylenol ones with codeine and caffiene, and sleep was next to impossible ( I ate mcdonalds yesterday with my mom, they didn't serve salads at that one so I had a big extra)  I think my pain is gallbladder related but my dr says reflux...what do you think?????

Hi,
The description given by you points more towards  gallstones as the cause of pain.
You can get a second opinion from a gastroenterologist.
The ideal thing to do for pain due to gallstones is to get the gallbladder removed.

Everyone talks so highly about my dr, but my mom, grandma and I hate her and think shes a quack, but consider ourselves lucky to have a family dr.  Even my sister loves her.... For me she told me to continue taking tylenol and zantac, to eat a very very low fat diet and to avoid foods known to aggravated reflux.  which leaves me with nothing really to eat.  I have another appt with her Jan 4 2010.  I live in a small town and the only way to get into see a dr is if you have a family doctor, and if you have one, no one else wants to touch u.

Go to another doctor..its your gallstones!! some doctors are stupid and lazy!! my doctor said i was "just your tummy" and i listened to him...then i thought NO cos its under my ribs and i know my stomach isnt under to RIB CAGE!!  so i asked another doctor to send me for ULTRASOUND and HE listened...i had one 7mm stone...guess what...i had the OPERATION to remove the whole gallbladder. The symptoms most people get with gallstones is jaundice, yellowing of your white part of eye balls.   IF IT SHOWED TONNES OF STONES what are u waiting for? BEG the doctors to send u to operate...is keyhole surgery and recovery is up to 3 weeks for total internal healing..you cant drive for at least 2 weeks so no rupture of stitches could happen internally.  The gallbladder stores the fat then send it down to intestines..apparently we dont need it..just like our appendix...GO AND GET A DOCTOR WHO LISTENS TO U AND TAKE YOUR XRAYS!!
