hernia

I have a hernia and was recently told that it can't be repaired because my liver is wrapped up in it.  Is it safe to let it go?

My problem is similar to cubpanda above. This is a second hernia that appeared about a year after a hernia appeared after a radical cesarean (up & down incision) the area next to it opened up & was then repaired with mesh. This one is just above my belly button and protrudes.  Sometimes the area around it feels very burny like it is tearing a bit.  I hear digestion noises rather clearly at times.  When I sleep on my stomach it feels worse the next day.

I didn't clarify where the hernia was.  It is not a hiatal hernia as it is located at my naval area.  It is big, protrudes and I get some pain with it but mostly feelings of being bloated and trouble breathing. Any other recomendations?  thank you very much for your time.  Judy

Hi,
Hiatal hernia most often does not cause any symptoms.
Sometimes it may cause symptoms of acid reflux in which  case you need to take PPI like prilosec for about 8 weeks.
If your hiatal hernia is not causing any symptoms just ignore it.
