H pylori

Hi I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease back in July of 2008.  I had muliple bi-opsies taken and blood tests done.  I was also tested for h pylori at the time and it was negative but I have lost almost 60 lbs since then.  I use to weigh 233 and now i am around 173.  I have horrbile belching which is so painful at times I have to lay on my left side to expell the gas, nasty taste in my mouth, dizzy, extremely weak and fatigued.
I was at my GastroEnterologist today and asked him about H pylori and he says that if he tested 10 people that 8 of them would test positive for h pylori basically dismissing my concerns.  It may be true that alot of us my have the bacteria but also there must be an indicator of a problem.  I keep having cbc and they come back normal, what do you recommend I get tested for this is no way to live.

Hi.  I'm having Independent  lab tests done for H pylori, Candida Albicans,Lyme Disease and many more things.  I have had so many tests done already and everything comes back fine.  I have been feeling worse since going gluten free.  I seem to be developing food allergies along with he abdominal pain, constant pressure belching, extreme fatigue to the point were I cannot function.    Thanks for your reply.

Hi.  Have you had the breath test done for H-Pylori?

I had h-pylori 10 years ago with an ulcer.  I had the triple antibiotic treatment.  It cleared up however I have continually suffered from heartburn since.  It has gotten worse over the last 3 weeks where the heartburn is everyday pretty much all day long.  OTC meds are not helping and my doc rx'd pantaloc yesterday.  I asked him about the possibility of the hpylori returning.  He wants me to use the meds for a month then stop and see what happens.

With the symptoms you have and the discomfort you are in I would push for more testing.  Hope you get this figured out soon.
