spitting up blood- layc0420

I am pregnant therefore I have acid reflux or gerd. I was so thankful to come upon this issue while on google!  I have always, well since I was about 16, seemed to spit up blood after vomiting. I was just wondering if anyone has the reason this occurs after the 3 years since this question was first asked? When I vomit I do strain alot and dry-heave. I do not actually throw the blood up but the blood always occurs after vomiting...while I spit. If anyone can tell me why this happens it would be so great. I am not for sure if this has anything to do with the acid reflux or not, but I would like an explanation.

U do not have to have heart burn to have reflux. The foul taste could be   acids refluxing back up into ur throat and mouth.

Please speak with ur Drs to make sure all is ok and what u can do to help get thru this pregnancy for urself and ur new little one on the way.

I appreciate they response. Maybe it's not acid reflux?.. I really do not have heartburn. My symptoms are as follows. Feeling very nauseous in my lower chest above my ribs..feeling like I have vomit from the bottom of my throat to the top..i do have a foul taste in my mouth.. Mostly I am over the vomiting although I feel sick all the time. I do not want to get up and move at all. I just feel like I need to vomit every second of every day. I have been pregnant before.and I had all day sickness, but it was different. Ughh I don't know what is wrong with me.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

Congratulations on ur pregnancy <3

I would suggest u speak with ALL ur Drs OBGYN and PCP and GI specialist about this issue.

Symptoms
Heartburn is the most common symptom of GERD. It is a feeling of burning pain in your chest or below the sternum (chest bone). This usually occurs after meals and spreads to your neck, jaw, or shoulder. You may also have one or more of the following signs and symptoms:

Bitter or acid taste in your mouth.
Choking, coughing, or shortness of breath.
Dysphagia (trouble or difficulty swallowing).
Frequent burping or hiccups.
Vomiting (throwing up) blood or having black, tarry stools.
Weight loss.

I know u said u spit up blood after u vomit, but this is something u need to discuss with ur Drs and the sooner the better,
