Recently i have taken up my meds again after a few months . today i took my kids to school and on the way back my esophagus started to sting !! i thought it was angina at first since i am a worry wort but i didn't have any other symptoms . i went power walking and jogging for a while (which didn't make it worse) but its been an hour an half now and it doesn't go way . I haven't eaten anything since last night.

U may want to try meditation to see if u can find a way to relax and calm urself during an anxious moment.....

This should help a few of ur issues....so do try .....as stress can hold off and hit us when we feel more relaxed as  during ur walk.....so, ifu can nip it in the bud u may not have that....

hi selma ,

familly history of thyroid, diabetes 2 and yes gerd , i remember  my dad used to scoff down gallons of milk of magnesia when i was about 15yrs old. i do get stressed a lot about everylittle thing! my cholesterol was always in the normal to low range. last heart check up was last year and I was told it was perfectly allright to exercise.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum,.

My first thought was do u have a hiatial hernia too?....

When u do exercise u could be causing the acids to migrate up into the esophagus...

U r lucky that with Hashi's ur cholesterol is in normal ranges....I also have it and can not seem to get them in range.....even when on thyroid meds....

Stress can cause GERD symptoms to flare....

Look to family history, and always get ur heart checked  to be sure....and have a study to compare to in the future.
