theres a golf ball in my throat

I have had this feeling of a golf ball in my throat for years now and it feels like I am constantly swallowing mucus. The ENT doctor said I had reflux and percribed me Prilosec 20mg twice a day. I didn't feel like It was helping so I stopped it. Saturday night I was drinking beer and all of a sudden I couldn't drink anymore. My throat felt like someone was holding a match up to it. Keep in mind this is all at the base of my esophogus not my upper throat. So since saturday I have not been able to have anything carbonated. The burning sensation is gone but sensation of something in there has not. It is worse than ever before. I have made all the neccessary appointments but am worried and in a lot of discomfort.

I am glad you are doing better.  I think I would give it a few weeks before I try a soda or anything fizzy or tart.  God Bless.

You said you've made all the necessary appts. did you call a gastrointerologist so you can get a EDG done?  They need to scope your throat and stomach.
Good luck.
