vomiting and coughing up stomach acid

I have Gerd, Esophogitis,IBS,Lactose Intolerance and Hiatal Hernia . Oh man what a mess LOL !!!!  I take kapidex, Bentyl , Alkaline Drops( acid neutrilizer) and Carafate.  Recently I have been throwing up stomach acid , have a foul taste in my mouth with nausea and coughing up stomach acid too.  My Pulmonologist said that the acid reflux can back up into your lungs if  you are overweight with a Hiatal Hernia  which I am.  My Gastroenterologist does not think at this time that I require surgery to fix my Hernia.  I am on alot of other prescription medications  for other health reasons too,  which I must take. I had all the test already Upper  and Lower GI  Series, Endoscope and Fluroscopy.  I think I need to have my PH levels checked and plan to ask my Dr. to do so. If anyone else is experiencing something similar  your imput would be greatly appreciated.

Thank  you doing all of the above already. The Chiropractor thing I never heard of but it  seems like a sound treatment because it makes sense. Chiropractors are known to have treated many ailments  like ADHD  in children plus may others.  I used to  see a Chiropractor  for my back and neck so I know about them helping to cure other diseases by manipulating the spine.  I went to my family Dr.  today to discuss my current problem with vomiting up the acid . He prescribed Compozine for the nausea and told me to continue  with my diet modifications and weight loss. He has refered me back to the Gastro Dr. and recommends some further tests , most likely he said the gastro will have to take a look back inside.

Hi...I am so sorry u r having this issue...not fun at all!!

I have heard that some chiropractors r able to manipulate the hernia to a lower position as to not cause these issues....ask ur dr about this method...no surgery is a good thing and the Nissen for a hiatal hernia can sometimes leave u worse than b4...everyone responds differently.

Weight is a big issue with this problem...ne gain or loss will cause a flare up....it is also very important to modify ur diet and lifestyle ....PLUS...check the side effects of ur other meds....it could be one of them is adding to ur mucus or reflux issue.

A talk with ur Pharmacist is a good place to go to ask about how drugs interact with each other.

Good luck
