Can GB disfunction cause weight loss?

I recently have lost about 45 pounds. Mostly I just never feel like eating. When this first started about 4-5 months ago I had a HIDA scan wich was borderline EF of 36%. My doctor felt that was inconclusive and went on to do a full work up looking for a cause. I had it all Colonoscopy, EGD, gastric emptying,  bloodwork all normal, but I continued to lose weight. Now after about 5 months of this I do seem to have more specific GB symptoms. Some slight nausea and mostly back pain on the right. I suppose I will need to have my GB removed but did the weight loss cause the gallbladder problem or is the gallbladder responsible for the weight loss? Is it possible for the initial presentation of a GB problem to be not wanting to eat anything?

Thank you for your reply. That was the answer I expected even though I was hoping for the other one.  I plan on proceeding with the chole since I think it's necessary at this point and hope the weight loss issue improves along the way.

It would be much more likely that the gallbladder problem is secondary to the weight loss rather than a cause of it. Extreme weight loss is a common precursor of gallbladder disease.
