You need to get your infraction rate from your Hida scan and if it's above 75 go and see a surgeon. A lot of doctors aren't familiar with over active GB disease do the just brush it off. They kept putting me on meds and making me feel like I was crazy if making it up. After loosing 30 pounds and not eating tegu finally took me seriously and referred me to a surgeon. My problem is, is that there not sure if it's GB or SOD. If they remove my GB and it's SOD it could make it worse so I don't know what to do. Everyone here posts symptoms but dosent post what happened after surgery. So I'm lost
i have all the same symptoms they keep sending me away with meds and calling it ibs no one should have to live like this they should find the problem...let us know if you have your gallbladder removed and feel better?
I too have had the same symptoms as you with a Hida scan showing my GB functions at 99%. Did you ever find a surgeon? I'm from NJ but recently removed over to PA. I was just wondering if you had you GB out and how you were doing? I
If you have not had your appendix checked, you should have that looked into also.
Dear mvr1989,
I had a hyperkinetic gallbladder problem and mine was removed at age 23. I had lost so much weight that I had it removed as a life-saving measure. Being in pain can definitely cause you to lose weight. Because your pain is in the right side, you are more likely to have a gallbladder problem. When the pain increases and the weight begins to drop rapidly, you need to get this taken care of. Just get it out. 3 1/2 years is too long to be suffering.
It is possible that you have a problem with your pancreas, but if you are digesting your food properly and the blood tests show that you are absorbing vitamins, and that the stool tests do not show fat malabsorption, then you probably have a gallbladder problem. You can try taking pancreatic enzymes to see if that helps, and if it does not, then you should consider gallbladder removal.
