endoscopic ultrasound. gall stone in bile duct

Last week i had a endoscopic ultrasound done and the doctor found a gall stone in my bile duct. i haven't had my gall bladder since 1989. he says the stone is small but i have had on and off pain in my side and over my belly button he thinks could be caused by the stone, so we are going to go ahead and have it removed. I hope this is the right choice. (my pain is not daily,) Has anyone else had this done? also  has anyone else had the endoscopic ultrasound done originally and if so how long did your sore throat from that procedure last.  i'm a week out and i still can't hardly swallow anything of substance like sandwiches, etc.  it's mostly liquid, soup and soft food for me.  this is worse than strep throat.  I'm dreading the next procedure which is scheduled for february 23rd.
