You may well still have a gallbladder problem as the cause. Although no stones were seen the function of your gallbladder has not been tested. A HIDA scan performed with CCK should be done to rule out biliary dyskinesia as you are describing typical biliary symptoms.

Dr I want to take the time to thank you for all the information.  I was tested for celiac disease and it was negative.  I will be calling the docs office in the AM to talk.about my concerns.  I also need to.find out why I'm being given flagyl.  I don't seem to be improving.  If I don't get any satisfactory answers soon I am thinking about visiting a teaching hospital like Ben Taub here in Houston for further assistance

I was tested for celiac disease which was negative.  I think I might try Ben Taub Hospital they are one of the teaching hospitals here.  I at a point I will try anything but I will talk to the doc regarding repeating the HIDA Scan with CCK to see if it is indeed GB related.  Thanks for all of your help

It may well be worth a phone call to the new doc's office with the comment that it was pointed out that the chance of this being gallbladder related was high and the wrong test was done. They might be willing to reorder the HIDA with CCK so the right test gets done to answer the question before being seen on the 7th. No surgeon would consider surgery without objective evidence of the gallbladder being diseased. There are still a few other possibilities such as celiac disease which have to be considered.

Dr the pain is getting worse now its all day.every.day.  Even water makes me nauseated I can't sleep due to pain no position helps now.  I feel so weak because I only eat to keep my blood sugar from dropping as I'm a diabetic.  When I have gone to the er they run the same battery of tests.  Dr I wish I could afford to come see you my problems would more than likely be behind me.  What should I tell the doc if anything to try to get to the end of this 3.5 months of agony.  I'm at a loss.  I go back to th doc Aug %7 but don't know if I can wait that long.  Just want some relief now not later.

I think you did the right thing in changing docs. You very well may have some degree of dehydration. Make sure you are pushing the fluids.

The HIDA without CCK was a complete waste of time and money. The only thing that was accomplished was to rule out acute cholecystitis, something that no one thought you had in the first place after two normal ultrasounds. The whole point was to obtain a functional test of your gallbladder and the only way to do that is by giving CCK and assessing the contraction of the gallbladder. If they are loading you up with antibiotics have they done any stool cultures?

Had HIDA scan on 7/19 really was not that bad no nausea but the Dr didn't order with CCK not sure why.  Still having same symptoms nausea now stools are mustard yellow vomiting pain in back between shoulder blades.  Just so tired now went to Dr today he decided to prescribe flagyl and changed acid.reflux med.  Almost at a point that I will.have to live this way the rest of my life.  Have lost about 10 lbs thus far could use to lose weight but the correct (by diet.and.exercise) not because I'm sick

I sent you a message, but I want to reply here as well.  I've heard on a Dr. Oz episode, that if you have light colored stools, you should have your pancreas checked out.  So, along with what the doctor above said, it wouldn't hurt to look at the pancreas as well.

I would love to hear what you find out.  :)
