Acid Reflux Symptoms - no harsh pain apart from twitching pain - scared it may be an ulcer

Hello there, I'm Craig and I am worried sick that I may have an ulcer in my stomach.

Name - craig
Age - 24
I am not over weight (a little under weight if anything)

Eating habbits - I don't really eat spicey foods, don't eat much fruit apart from the occasional banana, tomato and try not to eat fatty foods. I also have been recently trying to cut back on coffee, tea and chocolate.

I do not smoke or drink alcohol.

Basically, I have been experiencing sickly lumps in my throat, sickly burps, sicky feel, gagggy feeling, alot ofbelching even when  haven't eaten. I also sometimes wake up in the middle of thenight feeling really sick, anxious and gaviscon has usualy eased the feeling.

I don't really get any pain in terms of heartburn, altough I sometimes get a twitchy pain that doesn't last or long on my right side around my ribs. the pain is usually there when I am hungry and some times after I eat.

I went to the doctor and he gave me 2 months worth of OMEPRAZOLE and MOTILIUM
my symptom HAVE eased but I still get the symptoms. I have been on these tablets for almost a month.

I have to tell you that I am terrified of being sick or gagging. Always have been terrified, so camera down my throat absolutly scare the living day light out of me.

Can anyone make any suggestions or help me?

Thanks in advance

Craig

I suffer from that fear too!  I have a supply of Zofran, Tigan and Reglan on hand at all times.  By the way an endoscopy is NOT that bad.  They have you put out and you can request nausea medication if the sedative makes you quesy.  i have had 2 now and neither one made me feel any worse than I did prior to the proceedure.

It scares me at times because I suffer from Emetophobia (fear of sick, being sick, feeling sick, and being around sick)

Anything to do with my stomach makes me feel anxious.

It is now Feb 2008 and although I still get some acid reflux, sickly burps it tends to only be when i've eaten something really strong in flavour like garlic. It repeats on me most of the night.

I'm off the medication but usually have 2-3 spoonfuls of gaviscon some nights.

My problem has eased - since resisting fluid consumption with my meals. I wait for about 30 minutes before having a drink. It has helped me a tremendous amount.

My problem is still present but is much reduced since my last post.

I'd like to hear an answer because I just had a similar attack and almost felt like the acid went up into my nose and all.
