Alcohol after hernia surgery?

I had an incisional hernia repaired 7 days ago - how soon after can I have alcohol? (wine)  I have searched the internet high and low and can't find anything.  A little help?

Do not drink alcohol if you are still on prescription medication for pain!

excellent!  thank you so much for the response, I have been looking for information for days on this! haha I thought maybe I could since after I had my gallbladded out I was out for St. Patrick's 7 days later, but just wanted to check!  thanks so much again!

i did not have a problem with wine folowing my inscisional hernia repair - 3 days later i was discharged and went back to my parents where wine is a normal requirement to an evening meal!!
