Annoying Discomfort Right Rib Cage

I am a 45 year old woman and have experienced CONSTANT discomfort in my right lower (and sometimes upper) ribcage.  The pain "travels".  Actually I would not call it pain, sometimes it feels as though there is pressure from inside pushing outward against the ribs.  Like a wadded sock under my ribs!  The discomfort has been present for over a year, but never so bad or painful that I wanted to immediately seek help.  However, living everyday w/discomfort is growing old!  It at times almost seems that it could be a muscular or skeletal problem.  Other than the discomfort, I've experienced no problems.  My appetite is GREAT, I generally feel good everyday and am exercising daily.  I have regular bms and no sign of liver disfunction, such as jaundice, discolored urine etc. I have never had an

I have had this same problem that just started the past few months, maybe even 6 months now. No pain but I feel like my liver is swollen and tight as if it is pushing my rib but doesnt feel or appear swollen outwardly. It has now started radiating to my right side of my back up to my shoulder like a tight muscle, still no pain. I also started experiencing stomach issues such as constant diarrhea, sensitivity to coffee I have been drinking daily for years and never had a problem with before etc. My doc initially thought it was gallbladder and did a US and blood work, both which came back good with the exception of a small polyp which I know isnt near the size of the pressure I feel not to mention my heart is telling me it isnt that organ causing the problem (instincts matter). I did a CT Scan yesterday and it came back normal too so I have no answer at this point either. I did read this link though which covers just about every single symptom I have been experiencing and may give some guidance. We all want relief so I wanted to share what seems to have helped. I started drinking a natural liver detox tea found at any grocery store in the tea isle or health store and adding organic tumeric powder a few dashes and cinnamon which are both anti-inflamatory and I swallow a couple pepper corns from the spice section as the properties in pepper enhance the effectiveness of the tumeric and within 30 minutes the pressure went away. I did this for a week and was symptom free for a week. I stopped and it came back. This link may help some of you to determine it is probably your liver needing a detox and a healthier lifestyle. I would also like to mention that I have smoked weed and notice that it aggravated the pressure and was less present when not smoking. Any details help as many may not mention in a blog or to a doctor.

I've been feeling pressure under my rib cage and sharp pain in the middle of my stomach. 2 months ago I went to get it checked out with a endoscope to see what's in my stomach and I found out I had helicobacter pylori bacteria and then got some antibiotics, and took them for 7 days. before that I thought that the bacteria was the cause of my pressure under my rib cage, but as soon as I was done with my dose the pain continuously went on. I then went back to the doctors and had a ultrasound, but my organs were fine. I also took a blood test and the results of gallstones were negative.  Does anyone know the causes of this or have experienced something like this?

From someone who has been down this path, sounds like you got yourself an addiction there. I would suggest seeing you doc and telling him/her about the length of time and quantity that you have been taking Vicodin. Good luck!

I have same symptoms as you ie pain when bending - nothing else - no reflex etc. However Doctor after ultrasound, gastroscopy, blood tests thinks nothing wrong. I am worried. Are yours gone with time or did you have to do anything
