Asending Colon problems

I'm having pain down the right side of my body in what seems like the whole of the ascending colon. It's hard to explain, there's also a pulse like pain that starts around my hip bone or the end of the ascending colon that travels up the ascending colon. I'm very uncomfortable after a meal and I can feel a little relief  after I been to the toilet.

I've had the pain for some time, and have been for an ultra scan and was told I had a small kidney stone and there where  signs of a non alcoholic fatty liver, but I feel that this pain is coming from my ascending colon which as not been picked up by the scan.

I first noticed it some time ago after I had, say a three course meal, but now the feeling is there all the time.

What I don't want to happen is some to say to me "if we'd have caught it sooner" a year from now.

Any ideas or course of action I should request from my Doctor.

Thanks in advance.

Tony

You would be smart to have upper and lower endoscopy.  They can check for Celiac disease with the upper scope.  My digestion is slow and I take magnesium citrate 750 mg every day.

I have Diverticulosis in my ascending colon. It's uncommon but does happen. Tricky to diagnose without having a colonoscopy though.  In your case, imaging for sure, usually ultrasound ... but a colonoscopy might shed some light on things as well.
