Bloating

Hi

For past 3 weeks, I am experiencing abdominal bloating about 3-4 days per week. My eating habits have changed a bit over past 1.5 mo or so. I used to experience abdominal bloating couple of days before my periods but now it is becoming more frequent. My bowel movements are normal and I have no other pain in abdominal or pelvic or other areas of my body. My body functions are normal for most part. (Btw, I am 41, and weigh 110 lbs).

I want to know what could be behind this bloating? Thanks

Thanks a lot. The bloating has stayed the same i.e. 2 to 3 days per week for the whole day. Also, I had a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound done which came back normal. What else could be the reason? Kindly let me know. best

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
The causes of bloating are irritable bowel syndrome, lactose intolerance, reflux, constipation, celiac disease etc.Avoid gas forming foods like beans, cabbage, cauliflower, apples, peaches, broccoli etc.Chew your food properly while eating. Take a walk after meals .If you have heartburn over the counter antacids may provide relief in symptoms. If the symptoms are severe and persistent see a doctor. Do write to me again.
Best luck and take care!
