Blood in stool for a week

Hi...I'm a 37 yr old woman. For the past week there has been blood in my stool consistently. I know I have hemorrhoids (internal and external) and I've had blood in my stool before because of it. But it has never been consistent and not this long. My bowel movements haven't been particularly hard and I have had no constipation. I had a colonoscopy 10 yrs ago that came back normal (besides the hemorrhoid). I do have a family history of colon cancer. Should I take a wait and see approach or do you thing I should consult a doctor?  Thx for your input!!

Is it blood on the inside or outside (like a streak or two) of the stool?  Is it bright red or dark red/black?  If its just a streak or two on the outside you might have a fissure which is a small cut on your rectum.   If it is mixed throughout your stool it might be something called ulcerative colitis.  But ulcerative colitis would have symptoms of loose stools and sharp stomach pains.  Do you have any stomach pains or loose stools?
