Bowel Leakage???

I posted a question a couple months ago and figured I would update as now I have different symptoms. From the beginning...2 months ago I had a kidney infection and UTI. I was put on antibiotics to cure it. After a couple weeks I started having horrible itching around my anus and then I started having horrific pain while having a bowel movement. It felt like razor blades, I had never felt anything like it. After about 5 days of that the pain slowly started going away. However I still had the itching. I started taking baths in Epsom salt and also used Preparation H wipes after each bowel movement. Now about 2 months later those symptoms have all gone away, but now after each bowel movement I have fecal leakage for anywhere from a couple hours afterwards to about a day. I have to wear a pad for obvious reasons. My stool appears to be normal, no pain really, I sometimes get a little crampy but not often and not bad pain. I eat Activia every day and I have not changed my diet at all. I drink lots of water everyday. Thats mostly what I drink all together with the occasional apple juice or cranberry juice here and there. So I guess I am just asking for some insight as to what this could be? I would greatly appreciate any help, as this has become a very annoying issue.

Yes I do have normal bowel movements almost everyday, if not every other day. This has only started since I started eating Activia everyday. No painful movements, no hard stool...

if this has been going on for months and your bowel movements appear normal without pain and its been several months from initial symptoms leakage is not normal especially if it can last all day. i would go to a doctor before taking any over the counter meds to change your bowel habits.

Anal leakage normally results from having impacted stool.  The impacted stool remains lodged and your stool stays liquid in going around it and seeps out.  You need to start something like Miralax to soften this stool to get it moving.  You can even try a bottle of magnesium citrate to get yourself cleaned out.  The cramping is also a sign that your bowel is trying to move something it can't.  It's not a big deal, just need to get a stool softener and relieve yourself of this.  Take care....

Dont know if this matters or not but I also take Vitamin C vitamins daily and eat lots of mandarin oranges, grapes, apples, and yogurt. Just thought I would throw that in there as well. I also walk daily with my dogs.
