Hi ladies thanks for all your input. Yeah over here we have Medicare prob one of the best health plans. But yeah ive got high cholesterol all of a sudden and it dosnt matter what i eat - i had 4 savory shapes the other day - like WOW that was alot and i was in hell for 12 hours. and i agree they shouldn't say eat what you want you cant you have to eat like every bite will kill u sounds stupid but so true. I dont drink only smoke cigarettes. The steriods ive stopped taking the were giving me numb arms..Not helpful with 3 kids lol. And yes im glad to have you 2 lovely ladies to chat to hope to talk soon. take care  brio

I too understand your frustrations & pain.  They never tell you the problems you can run into after having you gallbladder out.  I love that they say "eat whatever you want now."  that is what ends up hurting us sufferers in the end.  You can still get sludge & stones even without your gallbladder.  I have had test after test.  The only thing that is conclusive is that I have pain & at times a mildly elevated amylase level.  All the other tests are normal.  My GI doc is thinking SOD.  I've learned to eat low fat & avoid alcohol.  It makes for much more pleasant days.  It stinks because you start to think it's all in your head.  Pain is pain is pain!!!  With diet modifications & decreased anxiety my symptoms are managed without pain meds.  Atleast we are in the same boat...it's nice to know there are others out there & we are not alone!

God bless~

Sorry your going thru this, I sent you a note in your mailbox. I know, not knowing is so very frustrating.  No very scarey!!!   I have similiar situation to you, but my pain started
abt a yr after GB out.  Do you know if you have high cholest or triglycerides or both?
I always thought they were the same but they are different fats!!
Is the steroid helping??  Is it making you hungry?
Does Australia have "uniform healthcare" I dont know the correct terminology, but everybody is insured by gov't?
I only ask because it seems like they should have sent you for ct scan right away!!

Is it going to be a spiral/ or 64 cut??  The last one I went for last week, in the US, the nurse told me that ALL ct images in the states of abdomen are spiral. I dont know how true this is and if it is, it has to be recent. Its supposed to be the best for the pancreas.

I also like you have to stay away from fatty foods, not that easy, although I dont really crave them, fat is in more food then I realized.  Hope your tests turn out good......georgie
