Causes of greenish-yellowish stool.

I'm 19 years old. Today I noticed my poop was a yellowish-green color. The stool was soft and came out quickly, but it wasn't diarrhea.

The past few days, it seems like I have been having to have a bowel movement twice a day, as opposed to the normal once a day for me.

I don't recall eating anything that was dyed green or blue recently.

I am paranoid that it could be a parasite or something. I went canoeing on Sunday and there was a spot where we could do the rope swing. I jumped off the swing and some water got in my mouth. I spat out as much as I could, but there's always the possibily that I could have swallowed some. Today is Thursday. Would I have known by now if I had a parasite? I haven't experienced diarrhea or vomiting. The only unusual things are the green stool and having to poop more often.

Get stool samples done to rule out something from the water.  Have you drank anything purple like koolaid or gatorade?  That can also cause green stools.

hehe ... I always have ask people that first since not many people realize it can do that.  I freaked myself out a few years ago when I drank a bunch of them before I found out it did that.

Michell221, now that you mention it, I did drink a purple Power-Ade a couple days ago.

I think I was just being paranoid. Everything was normal today :)

Thanks for both of your answers :)

If you had an infection of some sort i think it would be diarrhea.  Id definitely call the doctor and get in to a digestive health specialist.

i know you want right now answers, im right there with you.  But the doc has to look at your conditions because they can check for things like jaundice, run blood and urine samples and find the REAL culprit.
