Chronic Pain

My mother is an 85 year old who has been suffering from chronic abdominal pain for the past 10 weeks. The pain comes on gradually and builds to a painful extreme before slowly subsiding. She has no appetite. She has not had any significant weight loss (maybe 2lbs). Her doctor has performed an endoscopy and biopsy of the stomach and she has also had a CT. Nothing has shown up on these tests. Any ideas what this could be or what the next steps might be?

It may be constipation.  She should take magnesium citrate every morning.  She can also try Metamucil.  If that isn't enough, try Miralax.
