Chronic flatulence

Over the past month or so, I've been 'breaking wind' a lot... on average about 5-10 times an hour. Around this time, my stomach started to feel cramped up... it comes and goes, usually around the same time as the gas.

What could cause this?Stress? Any ideas for treatments or things I could try? I have a doctor's appointment in a few days, but I wanted to see if I could settle things down on my own in the meantime.

What foods do you usually eat in your daily life? And when do you notice the problem gets worse?

IBS is possible.

I'd try eating fennel and/or using Gas-X in the meantime to reduce discomfort from it being trapped.
