Colon Pain

iIhave had a colonectomy, 12" of my colon was removed because of diverticulitis. I still have a very sore spot on my abdomen, if i lean against a table of anything for that matter, it hurts. It is very sensitive to touch. I have had
additional CT scans and they show no evidense of  a tear or obstruction. If I am stressed at all my abdomen aches in this same area.
Am I alone in this, is this common? How long does the colon take to heal completely?

Is there anyone who suffers from severe colon spasms, bloating, back pain with attacks and last for several days.  Drs say its irritable bowel syndrome but, i have tried several medications for irritable bowel syndrome and nothing seems to help me except for a heating pad and being confined to the bed for several days until the attack subsides.

I had surgery in August of 2007. I went back to work 6 weeks after surgery.
I do housekeeping/janitorial work, believe me, it isn't because I "baby" the surgery. I guess maybe the bowels need to stretch? I really don't know and I hope the pain goes away eventually!

My brother had part of his colon removed from diverticulitis about 8 weeks ago and he has the same sore spot you are talking about. How long ago was was your surgery? He is also still having pressure feeling in the abdomen and cant bend over. He has been to the doctor twice and the doc told him he was babying the surgery and he needed to get up. Would be nice to hear from others regarding this pain.
Thanks
Joni
