Six years since your original post. How are you doing? I am 65 years old and always had an iron stomach. Six months ago I began developing the exact same symptoms as you. Personally, I think the giant food corporations are poisoning us, ie high fructose corn syrup, genetically modified foods, etc. Just wondering if your condition ever improved. ***@****
I am having same problems , everything you said is what is happening to me . I have had the scope and everything was good , this has been happening for about a year and still doing tests, mucas, blood ,cramps
and the feeling like after eatting to get to washroom fast ,but nothing but gas and mucas.(sorry about spelling) well on way to doctors now again .
If anyone finds out what this is let me know .thanks it does make normal living hard.
Hi,
I know this thread is old but I came across this thread due having the same symptoms as you . I am very worried if I have cancer as my mom and dad are going through chemo because of it. My mom has colon cancer and because of my family history I worried I might have it due to my symptoms. I am only a 36 year old male with 2 twin daughters, I am not ready to leave this world. I have ok eating habits though I eat very bad on the weekends. Luckily my wife is a vegetarian so I will start eating what she is. My doctor said give it a week and then he'll send me to a specialist.
Is there any update on your condition?
DEEJOVI, I have several of the same symptoms that you have mentioned, although mine are nowhere near as serious! Unfortunately, I do not have any kind of answers for you, but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you find more support on here from people who genuinely care, and want to help....and less negativity from people who TRY to point out everyone's faults (mainly because they are deflecting attention from theirs!) Uheem FLUFFYBB!!!!
I too do not have the best diet, and it's not because I don't want to! I'm sure if you ALWAYS had the option to eat as perfect as BB fluff, you probably would. I enjoy a nice fresh, crunchy, green salad as much as anyone...However, those of us who have busy lives, or live on a budget tend to have a harder time finding the time, or in my case being able to afford the expensive and time consuming foods from the produce section for most of our meals. Whether or not these perfect eating people want to admit it, not everyone's life permits them to have a healthy diet. Yes, some people just don't even try to eat right, but on the other hand society goes on and on about eating healthy, but I have yet to see these healthy foods made more accessible or convinient to people such as myself ( a tired, rushed, mother of three, living on a tight, TIGHT, BUDGET) as a pack of Raman noodles, or a five dollar pizza that will feed a family for much less than any time consuming health foods!
So miss fluff, leave this poor lady alone! Sounds like she is having a hard enough tube without your demeaning comments.
And to Dejovi, I HOPE you find some relief from your symptoms. Hopefully it's something that will pass. I wish you14 condon streetthe best of luck, and I will be thinking about you!
How are you doing now? I have had exactly the same symptoms you described since a colonoscopy in March 2011. The scope results at that time were normal, except for internal hemorrhoids, and the rectal discharge started the next day. I did have constipation before the test though, probably due to going on the equivalent of he paleo diet. After several rounds of antibiotics for other things, the symptoms got worse. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a few months later as at that point there were ulcerations. It is definitely foods (most) that cause the mucus - the tissue reacts to the foods. I pretty much have to have a very limited diet, meat, fish, poultry, eggs, quinoa, oatmeal, cooked vegies, peeled apples, and an occasional kiwi. These won't cause mucus for me. (No raw vegies or fruits for the most part among many other things. But I know I'm not cured, per se. Previously I had some success with probiotics for 9 months (and a week of an anti inflammatory enema), but relapsed when I got lax with the diet about a year ago. I am extremely drug resistant and am trying a cleanse first and then will add back probiotics, under the care of a nutritionist. This is extremely frustrating and scary and puts a cramp (no pun intended) in my lifestyle. I would be very interested in communicating with others with the same symptoms, especially if they have found a cure!
Any update on how you are doing? It has been a while since you posted, so I am curious as to if you have found any answers/remedies to your situation. Hopefully, insensitive, condemning comments from from the likes of FluffyBB haven't broken your resolve to find relief. I'm experiencing some of the same symptoms you had indicated, so I feel your pain (literally). Any updates greatly appreciated. I hope things are going better for you, after that rough patch.
I came across this page as I was searching regarding my own symptoms and just had to comment on some of the things you have said. You are asking for help, saying you are depressed and saying you just want this to stop - but then elsewhere you say you have a terrible diet, don't eat many veggies and no fruit at all. If you wanted it all to be better so badly surely putting the effort in to eat a better diet would be the first step rather than taking supplements or trying to find some kind of cure that doesn't involve any changes in diet in your part. It is a while since you put the post up - I hope since then you've taken some responsibility for your own body and things have improved, if you have well done, if you haven't then you should.
If the blood is bright red it means it is coming from lower in your GI tract. Has your doctor looked for hemmorhoids or fissures on you?
If you are still having problems with constipation, this could be causing some of your symptoms. I would recommend trying to increase your fiber intake, your intake of fruits and vegetables, your intake of water, and try and get more exercise.
No other tests were done except the colonoscopy, ultrasound and upper endoscopy. (All my blood work that was taken came back normal also.) I suppose because when the colonoscopy was done, there was no evidence of anything...he said there was no inflammation, no polyps, no hemorroids, nothing. He literally said it was picture perfect. It's so confusing. I still get blood, yes, I can sometime see pieces of what I think is stool or could be mucus floating in the toilet. And of course, obviously it's there on the paper. Sometimes, it seems like a lot, other times, it's just a little bit. It's always bright red (like it is when you have your period).
I forgot to mention earlier that I also can't just pass gas anymore...very rare that I can and nothing comes out with it. Like I said, there is a lot of mucus coming out of me. When I have to pass gas now, I have to make sure I'm on the toilet because more often than not, a bunch of mucus comes out with it. It's disgusting, sorry. I just want this to stop. Not only am I depressed from losing my job and being unemployed, but this problem added to it is making it worse. Hope you have some ideas Patient915, thanks for questions...
Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Did the doctor ever figure out where the blood in your stool was coming from? Do you still have blood in your stool?
