Continuous Random Diahrea and cramping

For as long as I can remember I get random diahrea at least once a month.  I've always been told that it is part of my menstral cycle so I've ignored it.  Nothing specific seems to trigger it.  One day it can be a certain food I eat and the next day I can eat that food and it is okay.  Last spring I had Radioactive Iodine treatment for thyroid cancer and the day they gave me the pill my random diahrea got worse and has continued.  I'm a little embarassed by it so I haven't really said anything.  I will eat and then within minutes I have to go to the bathroom and have SEVERE stomach pains.  Once it passes (for good, sometimes it takes 3-5 trips to the bathroom), I'm fine and go on about my day.  It has gotten so bad that it is happening 3 or more times a week.  What can this be?

Ask them to test for Medullary Thyroid Cancer - these are symptoms I have had for 3 years now and did almost every test imaginable EXCEPT for anything to do with the thyroid.  Just recently a tumor showed up which sent for biopsy and just this week was diagnosed with this rare type of cancer.  This is rare but again are symptoms I have had so what does it hurt to ask them to look into this.  (random diahara, rapid weight loss, menstrual cycle off whack, and a throat clearing type of cough that I assocaited with smoking but ends up being a symptom).
Good luck

you might have IBS. Ask your doctor about ways to reduce it.
