Diagnosing the presence of H. Pylori

I have been taking PPI's for a little while, and I had a gastroscopy. The biopsies all came back negative for H. Pylori. I am wondering whether the fact that I was taking PPI's at the time the biopsies were taken might induce a false negative? Is that possible?
