Digestive

Hi:  I had an Upper GI endoscopy and I do not know the difference between superficial erosions and lesions anyway my test report indicates The stomach body had 4 thin superficial erosions each about 25x2 mm.  Antrum normal and biopsies x4   The examined duodenum was normal.  Impression:  Linear superficial erosions gastric body?  No Barretts esophagus.  What is the stomach body?  Thank you for your time

Hi there!

Lesion is any abnormality and could refer to the superficial erosions as well. The body is the central main part of the stomach. Barrett’s described the risk of malignant transformation, which is absent in your case.
Hope the information is helpful.

Take care!
