Digestive

I have been taking 40mg Omeprazole for a year now for a stomach ulcer and because I also take celebrex 200mg for osteoarthritis I also have diverticulitis/ diverticulosis and had 30 polyps removed from my colon dec. 2012 After my colon surgery I had bloating and irregular stool for 6 months It was almost as if I had colitis at first but my bowels seem to have ssettled down and are almost normal now My problem now and for the past several months is I have pretty fowl flatulence all day every day Recently I have given up anything with tomato sauce, spicy or hot foods, fried foods, and green vegetables but still have flatulenceI tried taking gas x but it didnt work  so I have started taking 2 generic gas x before each meal It seems to help some I still have some gas but I wonder if its ok to take with the omeprazole and I also wonder if hot tea or dark pop could also be contributing to mygas?

Thank u so much Sorry I didn't see your post until med help prompted me to look again My ulcer hasn't healed turns out I was taking the medication with food on my stomachwhen my stomach was supposed to be empty. Also I'm under the impression that because I'm taking NSAIDs it will continue to cause ulcers in my stomach My doctor is changing me to protonix I'm hoping it works better for meI'm also having eczema and my fingernails keep breaking

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, your doctor recommended that you continue omeprazole for one year?  If a repeat endoscopy showed that the ulcer has healed it can be discontinued. Please check with your doctor regarding this. This could be causing all your symptoms. Regards.
