Diverticulitis and perforated colon

I'm 40 years old.  3months ago I was having abdominal pains and ended up having a ct scan. The scan showed I had diverticulitis. After antibiotics I was feeling better and had a colonoscopy. It showed that I have a few diverticulosis but at least one was infected. A month ago I began to have pain again. Gastroentologist sent me to have another ct and included a rectal ct. They injected dye up my rectum 3times because it kept leaking out. Two days later I was having emergency surgery because my colon perforated. I have a colostomy bag and have to go in for a second surgery. My question is...should the doctor have ordered a rectal ct that shot fluid into my rectum when I was having an episode of diverticulitis  and was on antibiotics for it?

You might mean barium enema?  I agree that it is possible that was not a good idea.  You can google barium enema and colon perforation.
