I hope you start finding relief soon and your doctor will be able to help you out.  I just wanted to let you know that I didn't test positive for having allergies to gluten and dairy myself, but I did notice that my IBS is better when I avoid foods with these ingredients--among others.  So, you don't have to actually test positive for a food allergy for your body to have an issue with certain foods.  For example:  I tested negative for having an allergy to lettuce and spinach, but if I try to eat either one of these greens, I get nauseous and vomit.  I hate that my body doesn't want salad, because I love salad.  I still can't eat salad, though.  I just thought you needed to know that you don't have to test positive for a food allergy in order for your body to have an issue with a certain kind of food.  Even my allergist recognizes this.  His example is of an anonymous patient who tested negative for dairy intolerance or allergy, but if that patient were to drink a glass of milk in front of the doctor for the doctor to see with his own eyes, the patient would still have a reaction to the milk.  So, the tests are simply a guideline, but you still have to go with your gut feeling for what is right for your body.

I know how bad the constipation is.  I have IBS-C, and it can sure be a trial at times.  Some things I changed with my diet really helped.  I stopped eating gluten and dairy, which really helped a lot.  They seem to be the worst culprits from my former diet.  I even lost a lot of weight when I stopped gluten and dairy.  Clearly, these things are not good for my colon.  A lot of people with IBS have trouble with gluten and dairy.  We also need to supplement with added fiber.

I am still waiting to see the doctor, I am not sure the doctor will do surgery for me or not in Calgary, I have severe constipation before, 5 months only have a few times, and not lot. Once a while, I recovered, however, now I constipate again, Severe constipation is very hard to stand it.  Some people say not so bad, like the internet friend Morcombe, he is very kind and tell me a lot about after surgery.  But, I still heard some are very bad, 28 direhera per day,  I am very scared to be the slave of the toilet.

I can't find the thread myself, but I remember reading Bellachick's post after surgery.  She said it was two weeks post surgery and it was the best decision she made.  She said she is doing great.  I know someone else personally who had the surgery many years ago.  He had it done when he was a young man.  Guess what?  He is an old man now and he is doing great with the colonostomy still!
