How long does it take for the results of biospy take?

It depends on the type of biopsy.  Certain biopsies take a couple days because of special staining processes that must be done, but your average biopsy comes back in the times mammo and caregiver222 mentioned.

Mammo is more realistic. What I meant is that the lab tech who reviews the tissue slides knows immediately. Bear in mind that in the event of a malignancy they want to know before the patient leaves the table. A long wait generally means a good result.

They know immediately, but usually take three to seven days before they provide a report to the patient.
