Epigastric & sternum pain

I have been having epigastric pain radiatring to the mid-back for 3months. The pain radiates to the sternum/chest area with a dull ache.Have a history of GERD,high BP & high cholesterol. My gastro Dr changed me from nexium to dexilant. The upper GI showed moderate GERD, HIDA scan negative & CT of abdomen & chest showed abdominal aorta with scattered atherosclerotic calcification. I saw a cardiologist who is ordering a stress test & abdominal ultrasound to r/o mesenteric ischmia. Should I be concerned..I researched mesenteric ischemia having a high mortality rate. The chest & epigastric pain comes & goes sometimes after eating or with stress and I can tolerate.Thank you
