I was also bulimic all through my 20's, 30's, and early 40's. Until I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 42, and then again at 46. I had bilateral mastectomy and ovarian removal the first time, and then second time chemo and radiation. I've been doing well, seldom purge, but I developed pain in my thoracic area and now in the past two weeks, my food gets stuck and is painful when I swallow...I force it back up, which is easy for me, for relief. I read that radiation can cause this, but I'm wondering if this is really, finally, the consequence of bulimia. Going tomorrow for a barium swallow test...what does everyone thinK?
